Dr. Bohinski joined the department in 1966. His primary responsibility was in the biochemistry program, which includes three semesters of lecture courses and two semesters of laboratory. The undergraduate training in biochemistry at John Carroll is recognized as being of excellent caliber. Dr. Bohinski also taught Physical Chemistry for Life Science-oriented students. The high quality of his teaching was recognized in 1970 when he was selected for the Distinguished Faculty Award. He has authored five editions of a textbook "Modern Concepts in Biochemistry." He also developed exercises for teaching laboratories in biochemistry and molecular biology and recently published an experiment in The Journal of Chemical Education. Dr. Bohinski served as chair of the department from 1999-2001 and became Professor Emeritus in 2001. |
